So Much Happy

I made a semi-sweet discovery yesterday! As I was hunting through my closet shelves and hoping I didn’t fall and break my neck on this blasted wobbly chair, I found a small box of my old gardening stuff!
By ‘old’ I mean the date on the seed packets is somewhere around 2009. So.

I’m going to try it out though, even though the seeds are not very likely to germinate, because there are LAVENDER seeds. Lavender is one of the things I MEANT to pick up, but didn’t. They’re not GMO-free seeds, so there’s that, but still. Some lavender is better than none.

I bought my other seeds while I was at the Mother Earth News Fair in P.A. last year. It was a great experience in all, going to the fair. I would definitely recommend it for any gardeners, whether you play beginner or advanced level of homesteading. if you’re interested! It is well worth the price of tickets for adults, and kids get in free. People come from everywhere to visit the fair. You will be introduced to new (and improved!) ways of doing things, innovative ideas, different plants to try.

Last year there was a booth that had samplings of different heirloom tomato varieties, and I’m pretty sure they got me addicted to a certain yellow pair type of cherry tomato.

I’m very much looking forward to going to the fair this year! I’m already starting a list of things to check into and to buy, even though it’s not until September. It never hurts to be prepared, especially in the gardening world!

One Step Forward

Welcome to Step Back Farm’s official website!
In our garden we grow an assortment of vegetables greens, and herbs. I am mostly in charge of the garden, and my little brother Ken takes care of the animals. We raise Silver Fox rabbits, and we have a nice flock of chickens.
My cat, Annie loves to help me out in the garden. (Just kidding, she really just likes to jump out of the bean bushes and scare me out of my wits)
